Emperor Norton's Holiday Bazaar. Akin to European holiday markets, take some holiday inspiration with the vendors around, featuring Christmas trees, holiday lights, all that holiday jazz and live performances - check the schedule before you go and bundle up for the great Financial District outdoors.

4. An oldie but goodie; the yearly, massive
gingerbread house staple at the Fairmont in Nob Hill is a surefire way to impress guest and locals - hello family pictures! If you can't get the best angle of the gingerbread house, then turn around to take a photo op with the hotel's 23-foot tall Christmas tree instead.
